He deployed as a Marine, and then spent eight years inside the Corps leading recruiting and developing manpower strategy. When he transitioned out, like so many veterans, he found himself drowning in the so-called sea of goodwill. Everyone claimed to support veterans, but most of it was just noise. Rob spent over a decade working in the military hiring space and quickly realized the hard truth… the solutions being pushed were the problem. He saw what worked, what didn’t, and what was nothing more than window dressing to make companies feel patriotic.

For a while, he sold the same programs everyone else did. The kind that sounded good but rarely moved the needle. Eventually, he called it like it was. The problem was never the veterans. It was the system. So he stepped away from senior executive roles, took the hard road into entrepreneurship, and built a new solution. One fueled by progress, not pity or profit.

Rob founded BufferSprings to help companies stop checking boxes and start building military talent programs that actually deliver. Today, he partners with employers like PepsiCo, Caterpillar, and others who are serious about getting it right. His approach is real, blunt, and built on outcomes.
