Gary Halstead, Jr.

Gary Halstead is manager of military veteran programs at Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, where he leads innovative Talent Acquisition initiatives such as SkillBridge and Re-Empower. Since joining Collins after retiring from the US Air Force, Gary has dedicated himself to enhancing opportunities for transitioning service members, focusing on their successful integration into the civilian workforce.
Gary began his military career in 2002 as an avionics technician with the U.S. Air Force at Tinker Air Force Base. His extensive deployment experience includes missions across various countries, including the UAE, Kuwait, Singapore, and Japan.

As a passionate advocate for veterans, Gary is committed to expanding veteran hiring initiatives and providing support to motivated transitioning individuals. He believes in the importance of creating pathways for success in civilian life.

Outside of work, Gary enjoys quality time with his wife, Katie, their daughter Harper, and their Aussiedoodle, Louie. A fervent sports enthusiast, he is a dedicated supporter of the Florida Gators and Oklahoma Sooners and also developed a passion for gardening during the pandemic. Gary’s dedication to service and community continues to drive his professional endeavors and personal interests.
