Ellis Mensah is a dynamic and passionate professional who joined Merck in 2020 in MMD Manufacturing Operations with a unique blend of military and civilian experience. He has served in multiple leadership positions, including his current role serving as a Blackhawk Helicopter Pilot and Company Commander in the New Jersey National Guard. His previous military roles include serving as a Liaison Officer, an Executive Officer, teaching Military Science at Seton Hall University. On the civilian side, Ellis has work in various positions related to supply chain operations management, business analytics, project management, and strategy and operations planning in the retail sector. Ellis currently works with the Global Clinical Supply Team as a Clinical Supply Project Manager. Ellis studied at Rutgers University where he earned his B.S. in Exercise Science and Sports Management and then continued his post-bachelor education with his MBA.

Through the Veterans Leadership Network, Employee Business Resource Group (VLN), Ellis has been deeply involved in fostering a sense of community and camaraderie among Merck’s veteran employees. Ellis first engaged with the VLN at Elkton, Virginia where he co-lead the Elkton Chapter, reviving engagement and setting up a framework for veterans and Merck team members. Ellis then moved into the position of the Global VLN Chapter Engagement leader, leading the various VLN chapters in membership engagement through coordinated activities. He most recently served in the Vice-Chair position, providing leadership and direction for best practices to engage and empower the VLN membership in the implementation of VLN initiatives and Veteran focused programs across the network.

With a firm grasp on and passion for personal and team development, emotional intelligence, and project management, Ellis looks forward to continuing to work with Veterans and the employees at Merck to continue to drive engagement, collaboration, and leadership development.

Outside of work, Ellis enjoys spending time with his wife, Sarah, mentorship, personal and professional development, pursuing his passions for fitness, DIY projects, and watching Formula 1 and the Philadelphia Eagles. He is committed to continuing to develop his leadership skills while helping others to do the same and looks forward to continuing to work with the VLN and other Employee Business Resource Groups.
