St Louis & Kansas City Carpenters Regional Council
Romualdo “Mo” Cisneros Jr, Outreach Specialist / Intake Coordinator | St Louis & Kansas City Carpenters Reginal Council
It was by chance that I developed a knack for teaching, since I thought my learning days were over when I became a Journeyman. I poured myself into going back to college and learning everything I could to be an effective teacher and along the way discovered a true passion for helping others learn a trade that is fulling as Carpentry. With 13 years of instructing experience and many contacts with local Career Centers our Regional council promoted me to the position of Outreach Specialist, in a fulltime capacity.
Now I use my understanding of education needs, plus building trades, to recruit people (servicemembers) and students from all walks of life into our apprenticeship. And I can truly say that I enjoy talking about our Pathways into our program at Career Fairs, advisory committee meeting and Virtual talks on-line. It all brings awareness to that fact that not everyone is cut out for college and there is a skills gap in our generations, who have no idea how satisfying a career in the union trades can be.”
